Bright Angel Point & Trail on the Grand Canyon North Rim

Bright Angel Point Trail is a .7 mile out and back trail to Bright Angel Point which starts behind Grand Canyon Lodge near the North Rim Visitor Center.

Bright Angel Point is the most popular overlook on the North Rim with an elevation of 8161 feet.

As the trail reaches its conclusion, it works its way along a narrow ridge with steep drops on either side. The view to the south from the point is obscured due to rocks. It looks over the end of The Transept on the west side and Roaring Springs Canyon on the east side.

Bright Angel Point Grand Canyon Lodge was built on the North Rim in 1928. It suffered a fire in the 1930s which nearly destroyed the main lodge. It was rebuilt in 1936 and has been operating continuously since then. It became a National Historic Landmark in 1987.
