Dry Tortugas National Park Weather

Weather:

The national park has a tropical maritime climate with semi-frequent hurricanes and tropical storms nearby during the rainy season from May to October.  November through April is technically the “dry” season, although the island is one of the driest places in Florida with just 49 inches of precipitation annually.  The low temperature is 66 degrees in the winter and high is around 90 degrees in the summer.  From our trip there in late June, I will add that the sun can be a bit brutal on the hottest summer days.  We didn’t complain when we were in the water or in the shade of the fort, but I would definitely bring sunscreen – we reapplied regularly.
