Isle Royale Weather and Bugs
Isle Royale is only open from April until October. The historic average low for May is 36 degrees and the average high is 60.3 degrees. The weather around Memorial Day is typically highs in the 40s through 60s and lows from 30s to 40s. The average high for June, July and August is 68 to 76 degrees and the average low is between 45 and 52 degrees.
The mosquitoes and black flies typically hatch in late May or early June and are the worst in late June and early July. When we were at the park in late August the bugs were manageable with insect repellant but we have heard that mosquito nets are a necessity in the heart of summer.
