Petrified Dunes & Great Wall in Arches National Park

The Petrified Dunes and Great Wall in Arches National Park are located past the Courthouse Towers and before Balanced Rock.

The Petrified Dunes area contains sand drifts that have been cemented into rock after being covered by layers of sediment and then exposed by erosion in the area. They can be viewed on the east of the road. There are no established trails in this area. There is a small turnout with a sign explaining the preservation of the ancient sand dunes. The La Sal Mountain range is in the backdrop.

The Great Wall is a wall of sandstone cliffs in Arches National Park located past the Courthouse Towers and the Petrified Dunes Viewpoint. It is visible to the west of the main park road.
