Campgrounds:

Reservations are available at Blackwoods, Seawall and Schoodic Woods up to six months in advance.

Blackwoods Campground is located 5 miles south of Bar Harbor on Route 3. It is open year round. Seawall Campground is located 4 miles south of Southwest Harbor on Route 102A. Schoodic Woods Campground is located 3 miles southeast of Winter Harbor. Each campground also has sites for groups of 15 people.

There are two other campgrounds in the park. Duck Harbor Campground is located on Isle au Haut and is not accessible by automobile. Wildwood Stables Campground is open only to individuals with pack animals, either horseback riding or on a carriage ride.

Cottages and Vacation Home Rentals

There are a number of cottages and vacation rentals available for weekly rental on Mount Desert Island around Acadia National Park. These options range from 1 bedroom, 1 bath cottages to large, oceanfront mansions with nine or so bedrooms.

Mount Desert Island Hotels and Lodging

As Bar Harbor is the largest community on Mount Desert Island, it presents the most different hotel and lodging options. Hotel options range from local establishments to national chains such as the Days Inn, Holiday Inn and Quality Inn. There are also a few different bed and breakfasts and cottage rental options near Southwest Harbor.
