Bar Harbor Airport
Hancock County Bar Harbor Airport (BHB) is the airport closest to the park. It located between Bar Harbor and Ellsworth about ten minutes from the Acadia National Park. Approximately 15,000 people fly into and out of the airport, meaning that it does not have much airline passenger traffic.
There are a few different flight options for those that do not want a long drive to this summer vacation destination. Flights are available to BHB from Boston’s Logan International Airport aboard Cape Air, a partner with Jet Blue. PenAir offers flights to Bar Harbor from Boston daily during the summer from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Elite Airways also offers service to Bar Harbor direct from Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) on Fridays and Sundays during the summer. Silver Airways recently started offering flights between Fort Lauderdale and Bar Harbor.
Bangor Maine Airport
Bangor International Airport is located about 50 miles from Bar Harbor. Delta, US Airways and Allegiant Air all fly to and from Bangor, Maine. For those flying into Bangor, shuttles are available, and car rental options include Avis, Budget, Hertz and Alamo/National.
Portland Maine Airport
The Portland International Jetport is located two miles west of downtown Portland and is three hours and 175 miles from Bar Harbor. The airport is served by flights from American, Delta, Frontier, jetBlue, Southwest and United.
Boston Airport
The Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) serves nearly 40 million passengers annually and is the primary airport in New England. Most major airlines fly in and out of this Boston airport. It is about a five hour drive from Acadia National Park. All major car rental companies service the airport. Concord Coach also offers year round bus service from Boston to Bar Harbor.
